Responsibilities (top)
The P.T.O. serves to enrich the lives of our students through a variety of fundraisers, assemblies, field trips, family events, and in-school services. The parents and teachers of Richmond Grade School work together to promote growth in our students and our school. The P.T.O. has purchased or helped fund many wonderful school items that our students and teachers use regularly.
Below is a list of some of the items the P.T.O. has been able to provide to Richmond Grade School:
- Stage curtains
- Gym/recess equipment
- Digital Cameras
- Die cut machine (plus accessories)
- Copier
- Support of the RIF(Reading is Fundamental) program which provides free books to the students several times throughout the year.
- Monetary support for field trips.
- Stipends for Student Council
The P.T.O. engages in a wide variety of activities throughout the school year. Some of these activities include:
- Fun Fair
- Secret Santa Shop
- Classroom Holiday Parties
- Teacher Luncheons
- Skate Nights
- Student Assemblies
- Parent/Child Events (e.g., Daddy/Daughter, Mom/Son Bowling, etc).
The P.T.O. also participates in numerous "free money" campaigns to help fund school programs. Some of these campaigns are:
- Box Tops for Education
- Campbell's Soup Labels
- Ink Cartridge/Cell Phone Recycling
- McDonald's Night
- Meijer & Target Reward Programs
